Who will be guiding you?

Hi, I’m Christine 👋 I’m a certified Pilates instructor and for over 10 years I’ve worked specifically with women in their 40s, 50s, 60s (and even 80s!) to help them feel strong, steady, and confident in their bodies.


I live in a small town in Southwestern Ontario with my family and our pup Kaia. My own journey started when intense workouts left me feeling exhausted and achy — so I pivoted to gentle, sustainable movement that actually made me feel better.


That’s what I now teach inside my programs: simple, effective Pilates that fits into real life and helps you move with ease for decades to come.

I can't make it down to the floor - can I still participate in the classes?

This particular program is mat-based and requires the ability to get up and down from the floor.

What specific modifications are included in this Pilates program?

As we age, I understand knees, shoulders and wrists can get a bit "noisy". Limited time is spent on all fours with cues to modify.  The exercises in this program are low impact and designed to be gentle on your joints. Special care is taken to ensure the exercises leave you feeling good. 

 

What level of intensity can I expect from this gentle Pilates program, and is it suitable for beginners?

Yes, this program is a mixed level and suitable for beginners. If you are brand new to Pilates, I encourage you to focus on your form and stop if anything feels uncomfortable. Modifications are offered throughout each class to ensure you are moving at your own pace. The rule in my studio is - do what you can, and forget the rest!

How can a gentle online Pilates program benefit women in midlife and beyond?

This is my favourite question!


First off, Pilates focuses on the mobility of your joints. As we age, joints can get tight. Pilates specifically focuses on working on releasing tight joints.


Also, Pilates is a weight bearing exercise program – therefore it is excellent for improving bone density (lessening your risk of bone fractures).


In addition, it works to improve posture and balance, both of which tend to decline in mid-life and beyond.


Finally, Pilates works to build core strength which helps to ease back pain and give you a feeling of confidence as you move about your day.  

How often should I participate in this online Pilates program to see noticeable improvements in strength, posture, and overall wellness?

I would recommend a minimum of 2 classes per week to see results. Remember: consistency is more important than intensity in reaching your fitness goals.
